چکیده

We present detailed elemental abundances and radial velocities of stars in the metal-poor globular cluster (GC) NGC 2298, based on near-infrared high-resolution ($R\sim$ 22,500) spectra twelve members obtained during second phase Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment (APOGEE-2) at Las Campanas as part seventeenth Data Release (DR 17) Sloan Digital Sky Survey IV (SDSS-IV). employ Brussels Automatic Code for Characterizing High accuracy Spectra (\texttt{BACCHUS}) software to investigate a variety species including $\alpha$-elements (Mg, Si, Ca), odd-Z element Al, iron-peak elements (Fe Ni) located innermost regions 2298. find mean median metallicity [Fe/H] $ = -1.76$ $-1.75$, respectively, with star-to-star spread 0.14 dex, compatible internal measurement errors. Thus, we no evidence an intrinsic Fe abundance The typical $\alpha-$element enrichment 2298 is overabundant relative Sun, follows trend other GCs. confirm existence Al-enhanced population this cluster, which clearly anti-correlated Mg, indicating prevalence multiple-population phenomenon

NGC 2298: a globular cluster on its way to disruption

We have studied the stellar main sequence (MS) of the globular cluster NGC 2298 using deep HST/ACS observations in the F606W and F814W bands covering an area of 3.4 × 3.4 around the cluster centre or about twice the cluster’s half-mass radius. The colourmagnitude diagram that we derive in this way reveals a narrow and well defined MS extending down to the 10σ detection limit at m606 ≃ 26.5, m81...

Signatures of intrinsic Li depletion and Li - Na anti - correlation in the metal - poor globular cluster NGC 6397 ⋆ , ⋆ ⋆

Context. To alleviate the discrepancy between the prediction of the primordial lithium abundance in the universe and the abundances observed in Pop II dwarfs and subgiant stars, it has been suggested that the stars observable today have undergone photospheric depletion of lithium. Aims. To identify the cause of this depletion, it is important to accurately establish the behaviour of lithium abu...

The Metal Content of the Bulge Globular Cluster NGC 6528 ⋆

High resolution spectra of five stars in the bulge globular cluster NGC 6528 were obtained at the 8m VLT UT2-Kueyen telescope with the UVES spectrograph. Out of the five stars, two of them showed evidence of binarity. The target stars belong to the horizontal and red giant branch stages, at 4000 < Teff < 4800 K. Multiband V, I, J,H,Ks photometry was used to derive initial effective temperatures...

SOAR BVI Photometry of the Metal - poor Bulge Globular Cluster NGC 6642 ⋆

We present BVI photometry of the globular cluster NGC6642 using the SOI imager at the SOAR Telescope. The Colour Magnitude Diagrams (CMD) reach ≈ 1.5mag in V below the main sequence turn-off. A comparison of the overall sequences, and in particular the Red Giant Branch slope of NGC6642 with that of M5 indicates that the two clusters must have a similar metallicity of [Fe/H] ≈ −1.3. We also obta...

Neutron-capture Elements in the Metal-poor Globular Cluster M15

We report on observations of six giants in the globular cluster M15 (NGC 7078) using the Subaru Telescope to measure neutron-capture elemental abundances. Our abundance analyses based on high-quality blue spectra confirm the star-to-star scatter in the abundances of heavy neutron-capture elements (e.g., Eu), and no significant s-process contribution to them, as was found in previous studies. We...
